Outstanding Performance by Sharif University of Technology’s Mathematics Team in the 45th National Student Mathematics Competition
The five-member team from Sharif University of Technology, representing the university under the supervision of the Iranian Mathematical Society, participated in the 45th National Student Mathematics Competition held from July 17 to July 21, 2023, at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Basic Sciences (IASBS) in Zanjan. Competing against 28 university teams from across the country, Sharif’s team secured first place by winning four gold medals and one silver.
In this edition of the competition:
- Mohammad Shahverdi Kandari won a gold medal
- Nima Amouei Mobaraki earned a silver medal
- Javad Farrokhnia, Amir Mohammad Ghavi, and Ali Mirzaei Anari each received a gold medal
Notably, Amir Mohammad Ghavi achieved the highest individual score among all participants and was awarded the competition’s special prize. Remarkably, only four gold medals were distributed in total, all of which were earned by Sharif University students. Additionally, the team members claimed the top five individual rankings in the competition.
Teams from the University of Tehran, Amirkabir University of Technology, Kharazmi University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad secured second to fifth places, respectively.
